My Begining
My name is Wendy Johnston, and I created this website to share my journey and connect with others who are interested in learning new skills and exploring online opportunities.
I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and spent part of my life living in several states, including Colorado, Missouri, and Arizona. Those experiences helped shape my appreciation for different people, places, and communities.
Growing up, I loved spending time outdoors. My parents owned property where I kept my first horse, and riding became something I truly enjoyed. I also developed a love for motorcycles and always dreamed of someday riding across the United States.
My Career Journey
I started working at a Toyota dealership at the age of sixteen. My responsibilities included filing and helping with various tasks after school. That job helped teach me responsibility and the value of hard work at an early age.
Later, I built a career with the United States Postal Service. I worked in the main distribution center, sorting mail and packages, which was a fast-paced environment that required concentration and teamwork.
One of the most challenging times each year was the Christmas season. The amount of mail moving through the system during the holidays was incredible, and we often worked long hours to keep everything moving.
During my postal career, I held several different positions. I worked on letter sorting machines that required high speed and accuracy when entering city, state, and zip code information. I worked in environmental services and eventually became the purchasing clerk for the State of Utah Postal Service.
In that role, I was responsible for purchasing equipment for postal facilities, preparing shipment documentation, and managing warehouse inventory. I also developed a system that enabled post offices to reuse equipment that would otherwise have been discarded, helping the Postal Service save a significant amount of money.
Eventually, I transferred to a smaller local post office where I worked directly with customers at the service counter. I truly enjoyed helping people with their mailing needs and introducing them to the products available through the postal store.
In total, I spent twenty years working for the Postal Service.
Those experiences continue to influence how I approach life and business today.
A Life-Changing Turning Point
In 2008, I experienced an injury that required surgery on my arms and hands. Following surgery, my right hand became paralyzed, which eventually led to an early retirement.
That season of life brought challenges I did not expect, but it also led me to search for new possibilities.
Rather than stop learning, I began exploring what might be possible from home.
How I Discovered Online Opportunities
After retirement, I began researching ways to stay active and productive from home. Like many people, I started looking for honest work-from-home opportunities.
Through that search, I discovered the world of online marketing, blogging, digital publishing, and affiliate-based business models. At first, it felt overwhelming, but over time, I began to learn how websites, content, and online communities can help people share ideas, connect, and discover solutions.
Much of what I share here comes from personal experience exploring online marketing after retirement, testing tools, building websites, posting content, and continuing to learn.
That discovery eventually led me to create this website 4w60.com.
